Carter W-1, 1 barrel carburetor rebuild kit. Designed for today's fuel. Chevrolet 1941-52. This W-1 version includes a complete accelerator pump with a flat stem. There would be no nut on the end of the pump, which means it has a non replaceable cup.

There are several different kits for the W-1 carburetor. Match the carburetor number stamped on the tag. If the tag is missing, then watch our video on how to select the correct kit.

My 1949 Chevy truck has a Carter W-1 carburetor. The brass ID tag was missing and I could not get the correct kit from NAPA. I got a tip from a group site to check out Mike's Carburetor Parts. I emailed them some up close photos of my carb, they sent me the right kit, it fit perfectly. Engine is purring for the first time in 24 years. All is good!

Seems to be an excellent rebuild kit for my "rare"? Carter W-1. The only issues I had is that the copper or brass washer for the plug on the bottom of the carb, the center was too big of a hole for the plug, it just pushed through when I tightened the plug. Also paid for next day delivery and package did not arrive next day.

Great product, my second carb kit from Mike's and the W1 wa alot more work. Next time when i take one apart i will draw a diagram of the carb on the cookie sheet and layout the pieces accordingly with arrows to each port in their stacked order. The diagram could be alot clearer of the strainer, jets and screws. A video would help also, i looked on EBay for pictures of complete units.

The kit was great the pic dose not show the pump spring in kit but it is. Service was great They double shipped my order and billed me once. I returned the extra kit. I will use these folks again.
