Carburetor heater gaskets are components used in some carbureted engines to prevent heat loss from the carburetor during cold weather conditions. These gaskets typically consist of a heat-resistant material such as rubber or silicone, and they are placed between the carburetor and the intake manifold.

The purpose of carburetor heater gaskets is to help maintain the temperature of the fuel-air mixture as it enters the engine. In colder temperatures, fuel droplets can condense and form deposits on the walls of the intake manifold and carburetor, which can disrupt the proper flow of the fuel-air mixture and affect engine performance.

By insulating the carburetor and maintaining a higher temperature within the intake system, carburetor heater gaskets help to vaporize the fuel more effectively, ensuring a better air-fuel mixture and smoother engine operation, especially during cold starts.

These gaskets are particularly important in older vehicles equipped with carburetors, as fuel injection systems have largely replaced carburetors in modern engines. However, some carbureted engines, particularly in certain types of vehicles like motorcycles, small engines, and classic cars, still utilize carburetor heater gaskets to improve cold-weather performance and fuel efficiency.
