Rochester 2 jet, 2 barrel carburetor ethanol ready accelerator pump.

FEATURES:

US manufactured
Ethanol ready

SPECS:

Overall length = 2.590" (when fully extended)
Cup diameter = 21/32"
Stem length = 2.04"

TECHNICAL:

apply a couple dabs of white lithium grease to the cup before installing
do not soak pump
polish the pump bore with Crocus Cloth before installing pump
do not allow your pump to dry out

APPLICATIONS:

You must match your carburetor number to get the correct part.

Hard to find accelerator pump

This is a hard to find accelerator pump. It fits 55 to 58 GM Rochester 2bbl carbs found on most V8 cars, including factory Tri-Power. The pump provided in most rebuild kits are WRONG, they are the 3/4" pump and will fit too tight in the pump bore of these carb. This pump is the correct size (21/32") and fits perfect.

Acc. Pump

The pump that came with the carb did not have the internal pump cup spring. This replace did and made a huge difference in my accelleration.

Rebuilding my old 2 Jet for the third time in ten years. This is the first time using the correct accelerator pump assembly, all others were kit components. I always had a stumble under slight acceleration, no more, now it’s fine all around. Thanks Mike for the great rebuild video and the “sudden service” getting the part to me !! I would recommend Mike’s to everyone.

Accelerator Pump

Hello Mike, Unfortunately this pump did not work out for me. I have an early Rochester 2CG on my 1955 Chevy. After doing more research I found that the early Rochester's take a different accelerator pump. The fuel flows into the pump well through the accelerator pump it self, not a channel underneath. Therefore I needed a pump which allowed the fuel to flow through and had a check ball inside. I was able to get one from a supplier on the east coast. Possible you could do an update on you YouTube videos to make mention of these differences as I find there are many who suffered from the same problem that I did. Thanks
