Stromberg AAV 2 Barrel Carburetor Rebuild Kit K4253

After much research I decided this was the correct rebuild kit for my 41 Cad Stromberg carb. My diagnosis of the leaking gas from my carb was a stuck or leaking float valve. The kit had a different float valve and seat design from my existing cone seat, but this was ok because the kit had both the valve plunger and seat. The plunger in the kit did not connect to the float, so I also ordered the float as well. The instruction sheet in the package was partially illegible, so it took me two tries to get the float level correct. Fortunately on the second adjustment the gas level came just to the bottom of the sight port with the threaded plug removed, the car started and the leak was gone. So, the float valve with different design worked. Probably the alcohol in gas was bad for the old float valve seat material. The scanned web page provided with the business card did not list my K4253 carb kit among hundreds listed. The instruction sheet in the kit was partially legible except the diagram. Overall it looks like Mike's Carburetor is a very good source.

I've chosen Mike's place as the source for many carburetor parts. I've always been satisfied with products that I have purchased. The shipping times are equally rewarding. The carb kits are always fully populated with all the little parts that are required when one is doing a proper overhaul.
