Identification: Carter identified this carburetor with a tag attached to the top of the carburetor and the tag would have the carburetor number stamped on it. Match that with the carburetor numbers listed on each carburetor kit. That is all you need to do.
What if the tag is missing?
Besides the tag, there is no other way to identify the carburetor as far as the carburetor kit is concerned. Matching the vehicle information does not guarantee the correct kit because you can't be 100% sure the vehicle has the original carburetor and even if you can, vehicles could have had more than one carburetor number used. It's down to the best guess. Take the carburetor apart, take plenty of photos and match the parts with what is in the photos.
