How the Float System Works?
Fuel enters the inlet and when the float drops the needle is pulled out allowing the fuel to fill the float bowl. As the bowl gets to it's required level, the float raises and plugs off the inlet with the viton tip needle.

Measure the float level with the bowl gasket in place. Use a ruler to measure from the gasket to the top of the float. Look at your specification sheet for the measurement. It is not the same for all Holley 885 floats. DO NOT bend the float tab while in the carburetor as this will damage the needle viton tip. Adjust by bending the float lever tab.
