Looking at the black cap, twist the thermostat clockwise to close the choke.
Looking at the coil and when heated twists counter clockwise.
Cap diameter = 2.18"
Cap depth = .81"

Choke Thermostat

Just what I was looking for! Recently while rebuilding my Autolite 1100 both the original coil spring and the plastic that holds it in place snapped. After looking on the magical interwebs I happened upon this which had everything I needed. Installed them the other day and so far so good!

Gasket was way to big. And the black cover fit but did not have a wide enough lip so when I tried to tighten it down it would not tighten had to put old parts back on.

Pres.

Mike: The plastic body of the thermostat as sent was much too deep to engage the nipple from the choke. I had to remove the spring from this unit and replace it in my old body which took a little effort .
