A mass air flow sensor (MAF) is a device that measures the amount of air entering the engine of a vehicle. It is typically located in the air intake system, before the throttle body. The sensor uses a heated wire or hot film to measure the amount of air flowing past it, and sends this information to the engine control module (ECM) to help control the air/fuel ratio and engine timing. A malfunctioning MAF can cause issues with engine performance, such as stalling, poor idling, and reduced fuel efficiency.

Most cars manufactured after 1980 have a mass air flow (MAF) sensor. It is a common component in the engine management systems of gasoline-powered vehicles. MAF sensor is especially prevalent in cars that are equipped with electronic fuel injection systems. Cars that have turbocharged or supercharged engines often have a MAF sensor as well.

However, some vehicles use a different type of air flow sensor called a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. This sensor measures the pressure inside the intake manifold, which is then used to calculate the amount of air entering the engine. In this case, the vehicle won't have a MAF sensor.

It's important to check the specific make, model and year of the vehicle to know for sure if it has a MAF sensor or not.
