Scout runs great!

Bought an old scout and the carb was missing a few parts. Made a quick call they guided me to what parts I needed and she runs like a top now!

Needs a little messing with

I used this conversion on my Holley 1940. The shape of the plastic is such that it allows a vacuum to leak into the choke housing. I plugged the port inside the housing with a screw to solve this. The ring retainer doesn't allow the screws to align, so I shaved the ring down a bit and let the retainer bow. That was a little hokey. All that said, I am happy this is available otherwise I would have been looking at a manual choke or carb swap.

It works! I put on a Holley 1940 (replacing automatic choke). It was not entirely obvious how to install from the directions but I was able to figure it out. I had to bend the metal retaining clip so that the air filter would fit on top.
