Question: "The 1st picture shows the choke pull off on the old original carburetor. It has a spring on the choke pull off shaft, used to turn the choke on. The 2nd picture is of the new carburetor choke pull off. It has no spring on the shaft, to turn the choke on. I am not sure why, and the sales people at my auto parts store, where I purchased the carburetor, can't tell me why it doesn't have a spring to turn the choke on. I was hoping you might know. I just want to make sure your electric choke conversion CU1445 I just purchased will work with this "no spring design" to turn the choke on and off." Answer: As long as the carburetor matches the original the conversion should work. Don't know why the spring is missing, but it should be there. You need to get the carburetor number and replace the choke pull-off. It simply keeps the rod from moving too fast.
