Just the right spring. I’ve pulled a few Carter BBDs apart and the step up springs are almost always incorrect or worn out. Thanks

BBD Carter step up piston spring

At some point I lost the original spring during tear down and clean up. I purchased 66-98 spring for replacement. Installed and tuned Carb / engine. Now running with no hesitation or stalls.
