The 4350 is a four barrel carburetor consisting of three main parts:
- Air horn
- Main body
- Throttle body
There are five basic fuel metering systems:
- Idle circuit
- Primary metering circuit
- Secondary metering circuit
- Accelerating system
- Power enrichment system
Other systems include the fuel inlet and electric assisted choke circuit.
Some Motorcraft 4350 carbs were produced with altitude compensation devices. The purpose of altitude compensators is to lean out fuel mixture when operating at high altitude. To improve high altitude cold engine starts, a bypass intake system included with the compensation feature is equipped with a choke plate linkage to the main choke system. High altitude systems cannot be adjusted. Only service possible is cleaning of the poppet valve and stem in aneroid bellows housing with appropriate cleaner.
The Autolite 4350, 4 barrel carburetor number is found on a tag attached to the top of the carburetor. Once you find your carburetor number, you simply enter that into the search box on our Carburetor Part web store and the correct kit will be displayed. Matching your carburetor number to the list contained in each of our carburetor kits is golden. That is as far as you need to go when picking out the correct carburetor kit.

Float - The Motorcraft 4350 float is a nitrophyl type of float and is not hollow. These floats can absorb fuel over the years and the only way to test the float is to weigh it with a gram scale. The weight should be close to 14.5 grams.
