Assemble the Autolite 4300 Carburetor
- Attach main body to throttle body
- Install power valve & main jets
- Install intake check ball & retainer
- Install pump discharge check weight
- If you have an idle air screw, install it and turn screw clockwise until seated then counterclockwise 3 1/2 turns
- Air Horn
1 - Install power valve & gasket
2 - Install needle seat
3 - Install secondary seat if you have one
4 - Hot idle compensator & gasket
- Assemble pump
- Insert pump into air horn and insert pump arm into pump

- If equipped, slide the fuel vent valve lever on the air horn and under the pump lever.
- Line up the holes in both levers and insert the pivot pin through the center hole.
- Install the retainer on the pin.
- Insert fuel needle
- Install float and float pin.
- Install accelerating pump check valve & retainer if there is one.
- Install air valve spring then air valve. I thread the air valve stem through the top then guide it when installing the top.
- Position the air horn gasket.
- Position the air horn assemble over the main body. Guide the pump plunger & the air valve dashpot piston.
- Install the long air horn retaining screw in the left rear hole.
- Install the remining top screws.
- Insert the key end of the accelerating pump control rod into the keyed hole in the primary throttle lever.
- Insert the other end into the pump arm and install the retainer.
- Insert the choke control rod end into the automatic choke lever.
- Install the retaining clip.
- If you have an idle air adjustment screw, turn it in all the way then out 1 1/2 turns.
- Install pump rod - thread the rod into the throttle lever at the bottom of the carburetor by aligning the tit on the end. Put a 1/8" c clip on the other end at the top.
