Power vent rod assembly. Includes a new rod, return spring and retainer clip. This must fit loose in the hole and the hole may have been beaten in a bit, so you may have to ream the hole slightly. See #12, #13 & #14 in the illustration.

Adjust the vent rod using the illustration . Staking the opening is not the correct way to keep the rod in place. At hot idle (choke open, throttle closed), the rod should be in the hole about 1/4" from the raised ring.

This vent rod is often removed by re-builders. We are of a mind that it should be there as it was designed.

Videos very helpful

Found your two videos on adjusting the Autolite 1100 very helpful! The 55 year old plastic rod snapped when I was doing the rebuild. So, like all old car owners, I improvised. Pleasantly surprised that the part was available. Good quality, fair price, quick delivery. Keep on driving! Dan

Great carb parts

This is a great place to restore/repair your carburetor. My 1960 Comet wagon has a Autolite 1100 and it was flooding-the carburetor was the guilty party. I got the premium kit and replaced the float, the needle and seat and all the other parts included in the kit. Everything fit perfectly. The links to the videos are fantastic easy to follow for instruction. Other resources like the exploded view of the carburetor made assembly so much easier. Website is very user friendly. Shipping is fast. Top notch service and quality parts. My Wagon is back on the road and taking me to the beach to surf. !!!! Super stoked !!!!!!
