Checkballs and Weights for Carter AFB 4-barrel Carburetors

Common questions:
- The main discharge will use either a pointed check weight or a checkball and rectangular weight. These two options are interchangeable and you'll typically find a pointed weight in the rebuild kit
- The check weight needs 1/16" - 1/8" headspace to move in the discharge port
- The inlet check assembly should have a ball inside it, if yours is empty, it needs to be replaced.
- There are two sizes of inlet checks, only one is currently available, 53-73

Some AFB carburetor have the check ball located on the bottom of the throttle body.
Pump intake check ball , seat and screw plug are removed by inverting carburetor and removing from lower side of flange.
The discharge will use either a pointed check weight, or a ball and rectangular weight. These two options are interchangeable and are indicated on the exploded view below, #39
