Electric choke conversion kit. Fits most 2100 & 4100. Some 4300s.

NOTE: Once in a while we run into a choke cap with a thicker lip where the retainer clamps down. In these cases you may need multiple gaskets to take up the slack.

SPECS:

Turn cap clockwise to lean (open) choke
Turn cap counter-clockwise to richen (close) choke
Looking at coil when heated, coil rotates counter-clockwise to lean (open) choke
Cap diameter: 2 5/32"
Cap thickness: 13/16"
Retainer lip: 1/8" thick

TECHNICAL:

Fits the 2100 & 4100 without the spring loaded center. Also used on some 2150 carbs.
This choke has a hook at the end of the coil. Set the hook on either side of the piston stem so it holds the choke closed when it's cold. It does not matter if your existing choke has a hook or a loop. The choke does not pull the housing open as it warms, it simply relaxes and allows the choke flap to open naturally.
Does NOT fit where there is a spring in the choke housing in the center. Center post sticks out too far.

I am happy to say that this choke worked GREAT! Very easy to install and it gave me instant gratification. Hooked it up to my 2 barrel on a ford 289. Much nicer then the old manifold type choke. I am not a mechanic and I feel that anyone who can read and has a small understanding of what a carburetor does can easily install this choke, One of my better buys Thanks Mike for a nice set up.

Mechanic Causing Panic

Works as advertised, my 1965 Galaxie 352 would crank and crank, I’d have to hold the gas to get her started and after a warmup it was even worse. After rebuilding and adjusting the 4100 i figured the old hot air choke wasn’t closing after running. After the swap fires fast and starts like it’s supposed to. They have good videos online to help if your not too familiar with your carburetor, like very in depth adjustment, maintenance, and rebuild videos that could walk anyone through the process.

Electric choke conversion kit

This item works perfectly. I am very pleased. The only thing I would say is that if installing this on your vehicle, attach it under a bolt head that gets hot pretty quickly. I used a digital thermometer gun that has a laser light and found some bolts get hotter much quicker than others. I used one that opens the choke fully in approximately 3-4 minutes in 80 degree outside temperatures and it works great. Thanks also for the speedy service.

What a simple and effective way to update a stock "air temp" choke. It made an immediate difference. The heat sensor is significantly more reliable than the stock choke. This system takes most of the guesswork out of the choke setup.

Casual mechanic

I only work on my own vehicle and this was a snap. I wasted more time trying to adjust the carb/choke after a head gasket replacement and carb rebuidl than it took to install the elec choke conversion kit. It work great and I will definately recommend this product to everyone I know that still runs a carb. Mike's is an old school mechanics friend. Thanks.

Awesome. Truly bolt on. Adjust the choke plate. Got out and drive - what a difference. It worked and idle little higher as it should - when cold . Check when engine was hot - the choke plate was fully open. Super great! Bye the way. Attach the sender on the cast iron water neck (Ford 302). Thanks Mike's carburator.
