Rochester carburetor electric choke conversion kit. Replacement for the integrated type of chokes.

Integrated means the choke is attached to the side of the carburetor.

This is a way to convert your automatic choke to an electric choke. Everything you need, including instructions.

SPECS:

Looking at coil = rotates counter-clockwise when heated (choke opens / lean)
Choke shaft = rotates clockwise when heated (choke opens/lean)
Choke shaft = rotates counter-clockwise to close (choke closes/rich)
Cap diameter = 2.25"

Due to technical reasons, electric choke kits are matched using the engine application. It is assumed that the carburetor, intake manifold and engine are original to the vehicle.

Examples of miss match:

Carburetor has been switched out.

The carburetor has been re-manufactured.

A performance intake manifold has been installed. This is OK if the manifold is a direct replacement.

Spacers have been added to the carburetor base - Divorced chokes only.

DIY on old boat

My carburetor already had an electric choke conversion kit when I bought my boat. It never operated correctly. When I started the boat, I would have a lot of black smoke and rough idle. When I wasn’t sure whether I was purchasing the correct electric choke kit, I emailed them and they responded promptly. I really like the automatic ground block. With my other electric joke, it would come on even when the engine was warm and make the boat run rough. Everything in the kit is high-quality and works great. I would highly recommend Mike’s carburetor parts.

Electric choke on 65 GTO Tri-power

This worked great a 65 GTO with tri-power set up, we converted to electric choke and we are very happy with this and highly recommend to anyone else looking to convert to the electric choke. Note: It’s important to verify which direction your choke opens, if the coil goes clockwise or counterclockwise.

electric choke kit

It is a sweet kit, helps to bring a carb up to speed with the times, and makes your job way better to work on for tuning. I bought it for a 1964 Chevy 2 with a 283 . Used on a Rodchester 4 G carb . Thank again , Mike's Carb .
