Rochester 1 barrel, B, BC series accelerator pump. Leather.

Please check the measurements to be sure you get the correct pump. There are several other numbers that fit the B and BC also, although this is the only pump with a flat type stem. The other pumps have round stems.

TECHNICAL:

apply a couple drops of oil to the cup before installing
do not soak pump
run a blunt object around the inside of the leather cup to break the protective sealer it may have
polish the pump bore with Crocus Cloth before installing pump
do not allow your pump to dry out

Bought a rebuild kit at O'Reilly's for my Rochester B. Came with the wrong sleeve for my accelerator pump. I had no idea until I had already ruined my leathers. This arrived quickly and works fine! If you need a slotted accelerator pump for your Rochester 1 bbl.... This is the animal!

Rochester Accelerator Pump

Unless something comes up that causes this part to fail, it worked flawlessly. The carburetor was an "aftermarket" installation on a barn find 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe. When I got into it, it appeared the unit was rebuilt shortly before the car was parked 35 years ago. The only bad part was the rubber on the accelerator pump. The one I purchased for Mike's fit perfectly, and I'm well on my way to getting this classic back on the road.
