TECHNICAL:

Watch a video about this carburetor kit

Cleaning - Soak in a bucket of carburetor cleaner using manufactures instructions. Wash thoroughly with hot water. Use compressed air blow out the passage ways.

Use silicon spray lubricant on the gaskets to prevent sticking.

Polish the accelerator pump well, then clean out well. You don't want the pump cup to bind.

Apply a few dabs of white lithium grease to the rubber cup.

nomo ethanol

at first i thought the kit was over priced, but when i looked at and felt the gaskets i knew there was a difference in the quality from other kits i have bought. if you have rebuilt carbs before you will know what i mean. very happy with the kit and float, they are not over priced. tip; check your base plate gasket, i thought it would be in the kit, it was not. had to get it from a marine dealer. not a big deal but it may save you some time. ( rookie mistake from an experienced carb guy )

Parts are high quality and showed up quickly. I just wish the kit came with a primary metering arm spring.

your Majesty

Mike , Received as promised quite promptly. I was a little apprehensive at first about opening up the Carburetor. However with the instructions and diagrams cleaning instructions it was a snap .My wife would have been a little annoyed for use of another word seeing the pieces laid out on the kitchen table.I re assembled and installed it on the 454 that had not started in 3 years It started and ran as smooth as a nice nyon sock.Thanks for everything. old timer

This kit worked great... all parts fit as new, and the throttle response is vastly improved.... new float was 1/4 the weight of the old gas-soaked one, and the well plugs looked great but wept gas like no tomorrow. BE SURE to gob on some JB Weld when you have it apart and on the bench... (I had to remove the carb a 2nd time to seal the plugs). Thanks Mike.

Nice carb kit

I needed to rebuild the 4bbl quadrajet on my 5.7 mercruiser IO engine in my 22' Regal boat due to a stuck accelerator pump. Not unexpected as the boat has been stored and not started in the past 10 years. I bought this carb kit, and the premium up grade kit w/ the brass float together. I printed the instruction sheets and exploded view from Mikes website and watched his youtube video. I removed, cleaned, rebuilt, and reinstalled the carb, I replaced the old gas in the tank with new, primed the float bowl thru the vent tube checking that the accelerator pump squirted properly. I turned the key and the engine immediately started. Bought it up to 2000 rpm to circulate the fresh oil then brought it down to idle. Idled perfectly. Runs like a dream. Very pleased to have my boat alive again after 10 years !

Excellent kit

This kit was exactly what I needed, had every part and gasket. I followed along with Mike's YouTube video in rebuilding the carburetor. After installation, the engine fired right up and ran and idled perfectly. First time, no further adjustment or tinkering necessary. I added the brass float to this kit which I would recommend doing since you have it already opened up. The price on this and the float was also very reasonable for such a high quality product. Lastly, I received these 2 items 3 days after ordering, shipped express mail to Vermont from the west coast. Perfect!
