Dashpot Assembly for Autolite, Ford, Motorcraft Carburetors

This dashpot is marketed for the 1964-1966 Mustang but it must be cut and grinded to fit as the pointed end is almost 1/2 too long. I still haven't quite got it perfect yet but I'm working on it!

We modify this part to fit our application by shortening the shaft. This allows the part to function successfully as a substitute for a dashpot that is no longer available. Although it doesn't look like the original, which is a problem in the restoration business, the part serves very well.

I bought this for a 1965 mustang 2v carb. As noted by others I had to trim the shaft to length and it works great. It is a good part at a reasonable price. Thank you Mike's carb parts!

Many thanks to Mikes. Took a while to find this - only you seem to have it. Fits perfectly on my 1969 L6 200 mustang - carter YF 4198S. Very hard to find and very fast shipping to UK. Really pleased.

This part solved a problem I was having with the engine dying as I came to a stop. Although it was not a direct replacement for the one on my Motorcraft 2100, it was a simple matter to cut the shaft to length with a bolt cutter and grind the end smooth. It took all of ten minutes to make the modification and install it. It works great.

Looks good. Had to shorten shaft to fit my 63 Thunderbird. It looks like it will function just fine it's covered up by the air cleaner you can't can't really tell that is not original. Just needed the shaft shortened And littel filing and looks great. Plenty of adjustments to make it fit great item for a Great price.

Received the dashpot, looks OK , waiting on rebuild of carb before I can try. Will have to shorten the rod to fit this application
