TECHNICAL:
  • Requires 12v power source
  • Fits the 4100/2100 carbs WITH the spring loaded center. (There is a spring inside the choke housing in the center. The problem with these is that the center post sticks out too far for standard conversion kits, this kit will work.) 
    Known spring loaded numbers: C4SF-B
  • The end of the spring will go up against the tab. Which side depends on which way the coil expands.
    Initially and when cold the thermostat coil end will push against the tab, closing the choke valve. When the choke thermostat is adjusted, you twist the thermostat until the choke valve is closed, then another 1/8".
    As the choke heats up, the spring releases pressure against the tab and the vacuum in the carburetor and the weight of the linkage opens the choke.
    Thermostats do not open the choke directly.

Due to technical reasons, electric choke kits are matched using the engine application. It is assumed that the carburetor, intake manifold and engine are original to the vehicle.

Examples of miss match:
Carburetor has been switched out.
The carburetor has been re-manufactured.
A performance intake manifold has been installed. This is OK if the manifold is a direct replacement.
Spacers have been added to the carburetor base - Divorced choke applications only.
